MANILA — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte confirmed that he will be attending the Senate hearing on rice smuggling on Monday.

Duterte said he will reveal the names of agencies connected to rice smuggling. He said agencies and offices that deal with cargoes are often linked to smuggling.

However, he said that he will not be divulging names of individuals engaged in rice smuggling because of lack of substantial evidence.

Despite this, he maintained that David Tan is the king of rice smuggling in the country, citing results of an investigation conducted by the intelligence community.

Duterte, earlier said that he is willing to attend the Senate inquiry led by the committee on agriculture and food after hearing about Senator Grace Poe's invitation.

Duterte said he will just greet Justice Secretary Leila de Lima when they meet each other at the Senate hearing.
