Several domestic flights cancelled due to 'Basyang'

MANILA -- Several domestic flights were cancelled on Saturday due to the bad weather brought by tropical storm "Basyang."

According to the Media Affairs Division of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Cebu Pacific, PAL Express and AirAsia Zest cancelled some trips to and from Cagayan de Oro, Tacloban, Cebu, Davao, Surigao, Dumaguete, Ozamiz, Butuan, Tagbilaran and Roxas.

Tropical storm "Basyang" (international name Kajiki) has maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Public storm warning signal number 2 remains hoisted over Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands, Guimaras, Aklan, Capiz, Antique and Iloilo.

Meanwhile, storm signal number 1 is up over Romblon, southern part of Occidental Mindoro, southern part of Southern Mindoro, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental and Cebu.
