Floods affect over 9K in Zambo Norte

MANILA, Philippines – Over 9,000 people were affected by floods in Zamboanga del Norte on Thursday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

The NDRRMC said 1,855 families or 9,465 people from Dipolog City, and the towns of Polanco and Katipunan were affected by floods.

Residents of Barangays Santo Niño, Basagan, Malagas in Katipunan; and Barangay Lugdungan in Dipolog fled their homes due to waist-deep floods.

At least 422 hectares of farms were damaged.
