COTABATO -- Cardinal-elect Cotabato Archbishop Orlando Quevedo appealed for help Friday for the thousands of victims of Agaton in Mindanao.

He said 3 barangays in the Archdiocese of Cotabato severely affected by floods need help similar to what has been given to survivors of "Yolanda" and the recent earthquake in Bohol.

Apart from Quevedo, Butuan Bishop Juan de Dios Pueblos, former CBCP President Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar, and Digos Bishop Guillermo Afable also appealed for help for residents in their respective archdiocese affected by flooding.

Recent data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) show that more than 800,000 residents are affected in 27 areas in Mindanao. - Report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
