800,000 people affected by 'Agaton'

MANILA -- Some 800,000 individuals or 168,492 families have been affected by tropical depression "Agaton" the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday.

More than 200,000 fled to safer ground due to heavy rains, flooding, and landslides spawned by "Agaton," which has been downgraded into a low-pressure area.

The NDRRMC also said 50 roads and 25 bridges remain impassable in Region VII, X, XI, and CARAGA.

The death toll remains at 42, with 65 injured and 8 others missing in Mindanao.

Meanwhile, "Agaton" left P300-million in damage: P128,513,750 in infrastructure and P238,607,228 in agriculture

The NDRRMC remains on blue alert.
