MANILA, Philippines – Tragedy struck a couple who was about to tie the knot when the bride-to-be died the night before their wedding in Batangas City.

Ariel Cueto and Aime Gregorio were supposed to seal their 7-year relationship this month. Everything has been set from the couple’s wedding clothes to souvenirs, invitations, and food for the reception.
But the anticipated happy union between the two didn’t happen because Gregorio died on Tuesday, the eve of their wedding day.
“Sana asan ka man ngayon masaya ka, 'di man naibigay sa atin ang basbas," Cueto said.
According to Nadieto Gregorio, his daughter fainted after she got home from her wedding practice.
“Pagpasok sa loob ng bahay tumayo para kumain, nahihilo siya sa upuan, pagsubsob, nahimatay. Dinala namin sa ospital, pinump na lang, wala na,” said Mr. Gregorio.
Aside from fatigue and stress, the family said the bride-to-be had no known illnesses.
Psychologist Lucille Evangelista said couples who are about to be married normally feel the stress, excitement and fatigue.
Evangelista said it was possible that stress triggered an ailment that caused Gregorio’s death. Report from Carolyn Bonqun, ABS-CBN News
