'Agaton' death toll rises to 42

MANILA -- Tropical Depression "Agaton" has claimed 42 lives and left seven others missing, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

Meanwhile, 65 people from Regions 9, 10, 11 and Caraga have been injured by the storm, data from the NDRRMC on Monday night said.

Sixteen landslides, flooding, and two accidents at sea have been reported in Regions 8, 9, 10, 11, Caraga and ARMM.

A total of 165,032 families or 795,588 individuals from 15 provinces in Regions 10, 11, Caraga and ARMM are affected by the typhoon.

Damage brought about by "Agaton" has been pegged at P367,120,978.

Twenty-five bridges and a number of roads remain impassable, as of Monday night. -- Reports from dzMM
