Cebu governor Garcia decides to dance at Sinulog
MANILA, Philippines -- Suspended Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will be dancing at the finale of the Grand Sinulog Festival in the province at the risk of being locked out of her office.
ABS-CBN News’ Reno Tallada reported that at around 4 p.m., the governor will be leaving her office at the Capitol , where she has been holed up since late December after being suspended by Malacanang.
It is not yet sure if she will be allowed to go back there after her dance. Acting Governor Agnes Magpale earlier said nobody is stopping Garcia from her annual dance, but hinted she may not be able to go back to her office and continue with the protest.
In an earlier interview, Magpale said they would lock down the Capitol if Garcia intends to come back after the festival.
"She can gracefully dance all she wants, if she wants to go back she can, kung ako, ok lang, but there are determining factors,” Magpake said.
It has already been a tradition for Garcia to dance during the morning and afternoon events of the festival every year.
