MANILA -- Classes have been suspended in three Davao provinces on Monday due to continuous rains brought by typhoon "Agaton."
The provincial government of Compostela Valley, Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental have suspended classes in all levels on January 20.
Davao del Norte is expected to make a related announcement later Sunday night after it has assessed the situation, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) chief Romulo Tagalo said.
According to weather bureau PAGASA, tropical depression "Agaton" is located at 215 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, as of 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Public storm signal No. 1 is raised over Compostela Valley, as well as in Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur.
