ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), International Monitoring Team (IMT), and local government of Zamboanga, together with other stakeholders on Friday met over the construction of the MILF office in Barangay Cawit.

Residents said the political office of Bangsamoro was built two weeks ago allegedly without proper coordination with the authorities.

During the dialogue, IMT head Col. Hashim Zol questioned the group if they were given permission by the central committee to construct the said office.

"Nothing can be done yet as long as the comprehensive agreement be signed, hence, the political entity of the Bangsamoro cannot materialize yet," Zol said.

The IMT then ordered the MILF to stop the construction of the office since Zamboanga City is not part of the proposed Bangsamoro government.

But one of the MILF members, Alex Daris, insisted that the office will only be used as their cooperative.

Meanwhile, the secretary of Zamboanga City Political Committee-MILF, Taha Darandan, admitted that there was a miscommunication between their group.

The IMT scheduled another meeting with MILF members in the city to update them with the latest development on the peace process between the MILF and the government.
