Cebu's Sinulog kicks off

CEBU, Philippines -- The annual Sinulog Grand Parade is now in full swing.

The parade kicked off at 9 a.m. Sunday after a Mass held at the Cebu City Sports Center, led by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.

The first contingents to present were those from Cebu City and Cebu province, with Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia among the lead dancers.

Groups from the province and other parts of the country are expected to take part in the parade to celebrate the feast of the Senor Sto. Nino.

As estimated 3 million to 4 million spectators are expected to jam the streets of the city to watch the festivities.

Vice President Jejomar Binay leads several government officials who flew in to take part of the annual Cebu festival.

San Juan City Rep. JV Ejercito even shared a photo via Twitter.

Celebrities also shared their photos and messages to their Twitter followers.

"Rockstreet in Cebu!!! Galeng talaga!! Thank you for a really great night," tweeted actor Sid Lucero.

Actor Derek Ramsay, meanwhile, shared a photo of him, girlfriend Angelica Panganiban, actress Iza Calzado, beauty queens Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj on one of the floats in the parade. -- Report from Jun Perez, DZMM Cebu Correspondent
