MANILA – Several towns in Agusan del Norte were inundated due to the continuous rains brought by the low pressure area (LPA) which is affecting Mindanao.

Butuan City is now under alert level one after the water level of the Agusan River rose to 2.68 meters Sunday morning.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in Butuan said 239 families are now staying in various evacuation centers.

Residents living near the river were also evacuated due to floods.

Meanwhile, some barangays in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur have also been flooded, including the main street leading to the town proper.

Three fishermen have also been reported missing in Tubay, Agusan del Norte after they set sail last Saturday despite warnings from provincial disaster management officials that it is too risky to venture out to sea. – from a report by Richmond Hinayon, ABS-CBN News Caraga
