MANILA – The low pressure area (LPA) off General Santos City will bring moderate to heavy rains in Visayas and Mindanao, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

The LPA, which was last seen 250km southeast of General Santos City, is unlikely to become a storm, the agency said.

In anticipation of the flashfloods, however, about 300 families in Compostella Valley were forced to evacuate their houses.

PAGASA’s weather bulletin as of 5 p.m. said the regions of Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, Bicol and the province of Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains.

Luzon is expected to be cloudy with isolated light rains.

Luzon and Visayas will also experience moderate strong winds coming from the northeast.
