Fire razes 100 houses in Cebu

CEBU CITY - At least 100 buildings and houses were destroyed in a fire that hit Sitio Warwick Barangay Ermita, Cebu City on Saturday.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), there were at least 100 structures that were razed by the fire that started around 10:00 a.m.

More than 10 fire trucks responded to contain the fire, most of them were from Cebu City, Mandaue City, Compostela and Minglanilla.

The fire was declared under control at 11:25 a.m.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, which started from the residence of a certain Jeffrey Dalogdog around 10:38 a.m.

BFP reported that there were no casualties but there were five individuals including children who were injured. They were rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center.

The affected people were temporarily sheltered at the barangay gymnasium.

The total worth of damage is estimated at around P1 million.
