MANILA – A dolphin was found dead off the coastal town of Rosario in Cavite on Saturday.
Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) officer Rodel Marasigan said the dolphin was found by a fisherman in Barangay Wawa at around 2 a.m.
The fisherman said the wounded dolphin was fighting for its life when he found it.
Marasigan said the dolphin was 1 foot wide and 6 feet long. It weighed about 40 kilograms.
Rosario Mayor Jose Ricafrente Jr. has ordered an investigation into the dolphin's death. – report from dzMM
