MANILA, Philippines – Two suspected robbers were killed in an encounter with the police in Cavite Friday morning after attempting to rob a hotel filled with Korean guests.

Senior Superintendent John Bulalacao, Cavite police provincial chief, said a security guard from Hotel de Gloria in Barangay Langkaan, Dasmariñas City informed them of the robbery attempt.

The police immediately responded to the call and killed the unidentified robbers.

“Nagkataon na itong guwardya na naka-duty sa Hotel de Gloria ay humingi ng tulong sa ating police at agad namang naka-responde itong mga naka-station dito sa Robinson’s,” Bulalacao said.

Police Officer 1 Richmon Anico is in critical condition after being shot in the chest. He is currently receiving treatment at the Asian Medic Hospital Dasmariñas City.

Bulalacao said a large number of Korean tourists were occupying the hotel at the time of the incident. The hotel is also owned by a Korean national.
