MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture said frost injury has affected more than a hectare of cabbage and potato farms in Paoay, Atok, as well as 1.3 hectares of potato farms in Madaymen, Kibunga, in Benguet.

The damage is now worth P335,000, with more than a dozen farmers affected.

The DA has vowed to replace the damaged cabbages with seeds.

The DA also advises locals whose farms are often affected by frost to harvest their crops before the last week of November.

Temperature in Baguio City dropped to a low of 12°Celsius last Friday.
