The Metro Manila Development Authority on Wednesday said it will lift the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program or number coding scheme starting December 25 to January 1.

In a phone interview, MMDA General Manager Robert Nacianceno said the number coding scheme will be lifted temporarily as a result of reduced traffic flow during the holidays.

He also advised motorists to stay away from bus stations where traffic remains heavy.

Nacianceno said a total of 1,000 MMDA personnel will be deployed during the holiday break.
