MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – A hostage situation in Barangay Palatiw, Pasig City ended peacefully on Friday after the 31-year-old hostage-taker surrendered to police past 7 p.m.
The suspect, identified as Emerson Go, held hostage 6 people inside St. Gabriel International School along Sandoval Ave.
He was armed with two caliber .45 firearms and was wearing a bullet-proof vest.
Authorities said Go’s only demand was to talk to his wife and children, who were reportedly in New Manila, Quezon City during the hostage-taking.
Go first released his 66-year-old mother Mildred Go and a househelper, but later released 3 children and another househelper after hours of negotiation.
They were not hurt in the incident.
