MANILA - Police on Sunday confiscated 300 kilos of dried marijuana leaves carried by a commuter van along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx)-Balintawak area.
The national police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Highway Patrol Group (HPG) arrested Boyet Simsim, the driver of the van, and passenger Clinton Simsim.
CIDG-National Capital Region chief S/Supt. Ronald Lee said authorities have tailed the van from La Trinidad, Benguet after receiving information from a police asset.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Mel Sarmiento is set to inspect the seized items at Camp Crame Sunday afternoon. -- Report from Dennis Datu, radio dzMM
