MANILA, Philippines -- Two of the four suspects in a robbery incident at Suki Market in Quezon City were arrested by police authorities on Thursday.
Chief Supt. Mario Dela Vega, director of Quezon City Police, identified the suspects as Charlie Mamalayan and former police officer Jonathan Barredo.
Mamalayan, who exchanged gunfire with the market's security guard, and Barredo, who drove the Mitsubishi Montero Sport which served as their getaway vehicle, were arrested in Calamba City, Laguna.
Recovered from the suspects were a .9mm caliber pistol and bullets, and the Mitsubishi Montero.
Police, however, failed to catch the two other suspects identified as Christopher Cadio and a certain alias "Danny" in their safehouse in Paco, Manila.
Mamalayan and Barredo said Danny died after sustaining injuries from their encounter with police during the robbery incident.
The two said they already threw Danny's body somewhere in Silang, Cavite.
Authorities have yet to find his body. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
