MMDA personnel cause traffic in EDSA

MANILA, Philippines – A group of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel on Monday caused heavy traffic along EDSA to protest their suspended benefits.

Some 70 members of Kapisanan para sa Kagalingan ng mga Kawani sa Kalakhang Maynila-Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (KKK-MMDA) blocked two lanes of EDSA-Orense northbound at around 1 p.m.

Vehicle build-up stretched all the way to Tramo area in Pasay City due to the protest.

The disgruntled personnel were protesting the suspension of their benefits, hazard pay and bonus under the collective negotiation agreement with the MMDA.

As of posting, fellow MMDA personnel were attempting to disperse the protesters. – report from Henry Atuelan, dzMM
