MANILA, Philippines – The primary Maynilad pipeline in Sampaloc, Manila burst Sunday morning, flooding Maria Clara Street.
According to Edilberto Romero, team leader of the Maynilad maintenance group, the pipeline may have been damaged because of the heavy vehicles passing the area.
The burst pipeline supplies water to the major areas in Sampaloc. Because of the damage, there is currently no water supply in the University of Santo Tomas (UST) area and Lacson.
The pipeline in Maria Clara is an isolated problem, but Romero admits it will take time before it gets fixed as they are stil assessing where the tube was damaged. -- Report from DZMM
