MANILA, Philippines – Rides in LRT 1 and 2, and MRT-3 will be free for persons with disabilities (PWDs) on Monday, an official said.

In his official Twitter account, Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the free rides will be given in celebration of the International Day of PWDs on December 3.

The rides will be given for free during 7-9 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Cabrera said maintenance crews have been told to make sure that elevators and escalators in all stations are working.

He added that operations officers are also under directive to ensure station staff are always available to assist PWDs.
