MANILA, Philippines – A policeman and a security guard were arrested before dawn Friday for allegedly firing shots inside a bar in Quezon City.

PO1 Wilson Samonte and his security guard friend, Hector Rivera, were arrested after running amok inside a bar near Sandiganbayan at around 3 a.m.

It took some time for the responding members of the Quezon City Police District Station 6 to convince the suspects to surrender and get out of the bar.

Samonte and Rivera denied firing shots. The policemen, however, discovered some bullet marks on the walls of the bar.

A .45-caliber pistol and its bullets were also found inside the bar and in Samonte's pockets.

Samonte, who is assigned to the Regional Public Safety Battalion of the National Capital Region Police Office, has been turned over to the general assignment section of the Investigation and Detection Unit in Camp Karingal. – report from Jacque Manabat, dzMM
