Vietnamese caught with shabu at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines – A Vietnamese woman was arrested after she was caught with more than 2 kilos of shabu at the arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 Thursday.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Pham Thi Anh Tuyet, arrived from Bahrain via Gulf Air flight 154 at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) found the suspected drugs in her luggage.

The suspect arrived in Manila from Ghana last November 21, 2012. She then left for Ghana on November 27, and made a trip to Bahrain before returning to Manila on Thursday.

The suspect said she was Filipina, but could not respond to authorities who spoke to her in Filipino. -- Reports from Arnell Ozaeta, dzMM; Alex Santos, ABS-CBN News
