MANILA, Philippines – A Filipino-American was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 early Wednesday after he was caught with various gun parts in his luggage.

Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon identified the suspect as Clint Obusan Pardo, who arrived in the country via Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR-103 from Los Angeles.

Recovered from Pardo were 23 barrels and 5 slides of a caliber .40 firearm, an upper receiver of an M16 and various magazines which were allegedly not declared to the airport’s Bureau of Customs (BOC).

He also had in his possession 3 licensed caliber .40 pistols and 2 caliber .22 long firearms.

According to Pardo, he brought the firearms with him because he is joining a gun shooting competition.

He will undergo inquest proceedings at the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office for illegal possession of firearms. -- Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
