MANILA, Philippines – Around 25 witnesses are expected to testify against the suspects in the killing of former ABS-CBN talent and model Julie Ann Rodelas, who was found dead in Cubao on November 6.
The lawyer of the Rodelas family, Atty. Pete Principe, said more witnesses are willing to give their testimonies, which Principe said corroborated with the earilier statements of the witnesses.
Police have already arrested four suspects, including Rodelas’s friend Althea Altamirano and Altamirano’s boyfriend Fernando Quiambao Jr., who are being tagged as the masterminds behind the killing.
Also in police custody is Jaymar Waradje, who has entered a “not guilty” plea.
Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 223 Judge Caridad Lutero, meanwhile, entered a not guilty plea for Altamirano and Quiambao after they refused to enter a plea on the murder charge against them.
The next hearing is scheduled on February 12, 2013.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), tests showed that the 20-year-old Rodelas was raped before she was shot dead.
