MANILA - Two Chinese nationals and two Filipinos were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Wednesday morning.
Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police – Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PNP-AIDSOTF) identified the suspects as Bayron Pornillosa, 32; Arnold Laluces, 44; Sam Ming Hei, 22; and Ming Tony Molina, 28.
The buy-bust operation occurred at the corner of Industria and Economia Streets in Barangay Bagumbayan.
Authorities confiscated three kilograms of shabu from the suspects with a street value of P15 million.
PNP-AIDSOTF Team Leader Sr. Supt Prudencio Bañas said the suspects used two vehicles, a Mitsubishi Adventure and a Hyundai i10, during the transaction.
One of the suspects, Sam, attempted to escape using one of the cars.
He was eventually arrested in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City after a 20-minute police chase.
PDEA chief Arturo Cacdac, meanwhile, said in a separate interview on dzMM that the arrested drug dealers have links to the operators of the shabu laboratory in Quezon City, which was raided when he was still the PNP deputy chief for operations.
Cacdac said no one was arrested during the raid in the Quezon City laboratory, where equipment and shabu products were worth an estimated P800 million.
He said the arrest of the four was a product of a long period of surveillance.
