MANILA, Philippines - Two of convicted murderer Rolito Go's alleged abductors are now under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Justice Secretary Leila De Lima on Monday forwarded to reporters a text message from NBI Director Nonnatus Rojas that confirmed the apprehension of one of the two suspects and the surrender of the other.
One was allegedly arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for carjacking. The other voluntarily surrendered.
They executed affidavits subscribed before a DOJ prosecutor.
The NBI filed charges of kidnapping against them DOJ last November 5.
Go and his nephew Clarence Yu were allegedly abducted from the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) on August 14.
He claimed that ransom was demanded for his release.
