MANILA, Philippines – A construction worker who allegedly jumped from a flyover in Pasig luckily survived the fall.

It was about 10 p.m. on Thursday when people heard a scream before noticing “Edmund” jumping off from an estimated 25 feet high flyover along Meralco Avenue.

But instead of falling on the concrete road, Edmund landed on top of a black car.

One motorist was startled when he heard something fall on the car’s roof.

"Nakarinig kaming sumisigaw na lalaki. Sumisigaw siya, magpapakamatay daw. Hindi namin makita. After a few seconds, ayun, narinig ko malakas, doon sa ibabaw ng kotse," the motorist said.

Personnel from Barangay San Antonio Rescue and members of the Pasig City Police immediately responded to the scene but were not able to quickly rush Edmund to the hospital.

They said Edmund struggled with them, making it harder for rescuers to put him inside an ambulance.

"Noong tinanong namin siya, mayroon daw pong humahabol sa kanya, wala naman. Mukha pong high po siya sa drugs po," said a Barangay San Antonio official.

Edmund is now at the Rizal Medical Center. His family also arrived at the hospital. Report from Bettina Magsaysay, ABS-CBN News
