MANILA, Philippines – A businessman died while 2 others were injured in a shooting incident near the Pasay City Hall before dawn on Friday.
Victim Efren Albao, who owned a dressed chicken business, was inside a parked L300 van with two others when three men on board a motorcycle strafed them at around 4 a.m.
The shooting incident occurred along D. Galvez Street, near the corner of F.B. Harrison Street.
Albao was pronounced dead on arrival at the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
Albao's two other companions, identified as Reniel Escleto and Ludegario Albao, were injured.
SPO1 Geronimo Geraldino of Pasay Police said Escleto is in critical condition at the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
Police have yet to determine the motive for the shooting, but Albao's cousin said the victim was also a barangay councilman (kagawad) in Pasay.
Albao is survived by his wife and four children. – report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
