MANILA, Philippines – A market inspector and a security guard were shot dead by two unknown gunmen in Quezon City past midnight Wednesday.
Market inspector Wilson Silva and security guard Cyleto Aragon were killed by two motorcycle-riding gunmen at Commonwealth Market past 12 midnight.
Silva sustained 3 gunshot wounds to his head and chest, while Aragon sustained 4 shots to his head and torso.
Initial police investigation said Silva was having coffee after conducting an inspection of the market, when the gunmen approached him and shot him.
The suspects also fired at Aragon, who was standing near Silva during the incident.
The assailants immediately fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Jude Mitra, another market inspector, said Silva’s killing may be connected with the job, saying the latter had been involved in a feud in the market. - Report from Jeck Batallones, ABS-CBN News
