Claire dela Fuente's bus franchise cancelled

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has cancelled the franchise of 129 units of Philippine Corinthian Liner owned by former singer Claire dela Fuente.

Her bus company led a transport strike last November 15, 2010, authorities said.

The order to cancel Philippine Corinthian's franchise was signed by LTFRB chairman Jaime Jacob, board member Atty. Emmanuel Iway, and Samuel Julius Garcia.

The LTFRB also junked the motion for reconsideration filed by dela Fuente's camp.

The agency also ordered the impounding of all bus units of Philippine Corinthian Liner.

The LTFRB likewise suspended the franchise of 15 other bus companies for 6 months.

The bus firms affected by agency's order are Admiral Transport, Angelito Chang, Don Mariano Transit, Irene Alejandro, Arabia Boy Express, Jacinto Torres, Luzon Bus Inc., Mafel Transit, Man Rose Liner, Margarito Peñalosa, Nova Auto Transport, Lipad Bus, Panda Transit Express, Royal Transit Corp., Vil 5000, Voyager Express. - report from Zen Hernandez, ABS-CBN News
