MANILA, Philippines - A suspect in the murder of Ruby Rose Barrameda has been arrested.

Robert Ponce was taken by NBI agents in Isabela province and was brought to the NBI headquarters in Manila.

Before members of the Barrameda family, Ponce denied he killed Ruby Rose but admitted fetching her from her home and driving her to Malabon.

Ruby Rose's remains were recovered inside a drum and a steel box at the bottom of Manila Bay in Navotas in 2009.

Ponce also admitted he mixed the cement they poured on Ruby Rose's body inside the drum.

He agreed to testify against other suspects, including Ruby Rose's estranged husband Manuel Jimenez III, her father-in-law Manuel Jr.,  and her husband's uncle, Lope.

The Jimenezes, who are fishing magnates in Navotas, have repeatedly denied the allegation. -  Top Story, ANC, November 8, 2012
