MANILA, Philippines – The policeman who allegedly killed his live-in partner in front of their two children inside a motel is now under police custody.
PO2 Ronald Fontejon, member of the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG), is now under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center.
Fontejon, assigned under the Diplomatic Protection Unit of PSPG, was surrendered by fellow PSPG members on Wednesday night, according to PNP Custodial Center chief Supt. Cesar Martino.
Fontejon is accused of killing live-in partner Kylie Barroca inside the Beehive Traveller's Inn in Sampaloc, Manila last Sunday. He never showed up at work after the alleged murder.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage showed the couple and their two children entering the inn last Sunday. Fontejon was then seen leaving the inn alone.
A room boy discovered the dead Barroca inside the comfort room after he heard the two children crying.
The two children have been placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Fontejon will be placed under the custody of the Manila Police, which handles the case. – with a report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
