MANILA, Philippines – A bomb hoax caused tension among students of San Francisco High School in Quezon City on Thursday morning.

A 4th year high school teacher reported receiving a text at around 8:50 a.m. but supposedly ignored it.

It was already at 11 a.m. when the teacher realized that the text message also warned her that a box containing the bomb was supposedly inside the school premises.

The Philippine National Police's Explosives and Ordinance Division responded to the bomb threat report, but did not find any explosive within the school premises.

Tension arose between the parents and the school administration after the latter initially barred the students from leaving the school premises.

Despite the absence of any explosive, the school administration decided to suspend afternoon classes. – report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
