MANILA - A 70-year-old grandmother was nabbed for possession of P300,000 worth of shabu during a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raid at her rice retail store in Pasay City, Tuesday morning.

Carlos Cadapan, chief of the PDEA's Metro Manila division, identified the woman as Lola Araceli Razon, who owns a rice retail store on Pasay City's drugs-notorious street of Interior Apelo Cruz.

Cadapan said Razon was arrested after PDEA operatives recovered a coin purse containing several packs of shabu worth at least P300,000 inside her rice retail store.

The PDEA official said the coin purse was discreetly placed beside the boxes of rice at the store.

Also nabbed was Razon's daughter, Venus Punzalan.

A radio dzMM report said the two suspects denied that they owned the coin purse. They also denied pushing drugs on the notorious street, the report added.

Also nabbed during the raid were Felix Razon and his live-in partner Arlene Punzalan, who were also allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade in Pasay City.

PDEA operatives were still hunting down a certain Jaime Punzalan, who was able to escape while police during the raid. With a report from radio dzMM
