MANILA, Philippines -- Two suspected robbers were arrested by police operatives in a follow-up operation in Quezon City Thursday.
The suspects, identified as Antonio Feliciano and Noel Norido, are accused of robbing a taxi driver in Novaliches before dawn Thursday.
Victim Joel Mendoza said the two suspects posed as passengers and rode his cab along EDSA Balintawak. He said the two asked him to bring them to Barangay Gulod, Novaliches.
Upon reaching the place, one of the suspects robbed Mendoza at gunpoint.
After taking the victim's earnings, the suspect also shot Mendoza in the neck.
The victim was rushed to Novaliches District Hospital by bystanders in the area.
Police recovered from the suspects one bladed weapon.
The suspects are now facing charges of robbery and violation of City Ordinance 5121 or possession of a deadly weapon.
