MANILA, Philippines –  Ramon Joseph "RJ" Bautista, one of the suspects in the killing of his brother Ramgen Revilla a year ago, has already adjusted to a life behind bars, according to their mother Genelyn Magsaysay.

Genelyn said RJ has shown positive improvements as a person a year after his arrest for Ramgen's murder.

Genelyn said she constantly worries about the effects of imprisonment to RJ's psychological health. She said she prays for her son and visits him as often as possible.

"Every now and then na binibisita ko siya, it's either magbibigay ako ng spiritual books o magpe-pray kaming magkakasama," she said.

Ramgen Revilla was killed by a masked attacker inside the Bautista home in BF Homes, Parañaque last October 29, 2011. His girfriend, Janelle Manahan, was shot in the face by the attacker but survived the incident.

RJ was arrested for the crime and has been in prison for about a year. His sister, Ramona, left the country 6 days after the murder after she was also suspected in the crime.

Genelyn still maintains that her children are innocent of the crime. She admitted that there had been a rift among her children, but denied that it would eventually lead to the killing.

Genelyn reveals depression

Genelyn also admitted that her other children want to receive counseling after the tragedy that befell their family.

Genelyn also said she has learned to become strong, finally recovering from the depression she had been suffering even during before the October 29, 2011 murder.

I have to face my life. Kailangan lahat ng laban ng anak ko nandyan ako para sa kanila," she said.
