Task force created to probe Ram Revilla's death
MANILA, Philippines – The Parañaque City police has created a seven-man team to head a task force that would investigate the killing of actor Ram Bautista Revilla and wounding of his girlfriend Janelle Manahan.
Task Force RamJen, named after Revilla -- half-brother of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla -- and his girlfriend, will be headed by Chief Inspector Enrique Sy.
Parañaque police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran said the task force will start investigating the house helpers of Revilla identified as Rosalyn Almaher, Freddie Roman and Nelia Orosa, and the actor’s production assistant.
The task force will also probe security guard Nino Tabada who was on duty at the time of the incident. The gate where Tabada was detailed is very near the actor’s home.
Meanwhile, the task force also hopes to talk to Revilla’s sister, Maria Ramona Bautista, to get more details about the incident. Police said they only have Bautista’s sworn statement.
Bautista was also in the house when the incident happened. The suspects allegedly took her with them and dropped her off in front of a mall.
Prior to the incident, a neighbor interviewed by dzMM saw Revilla and his production assistant leaving his home around 8 p.m. and returning two hours later.
Revilla had multiple stab wounds to the different parts of his body. Police said he was also shot. The 2 suspects also shot his girlfriend who is still under observation at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa. -- report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
