MANILA, Philippines – A 61-year-old trailer truck driver from Batangas is now P12 million richer after claiming the lotto jackpot prize from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Roxas said the solo winner claimed his prize last Friday, October 19.
The winner took home P12,330,208.08.
Roxas said the bettor from Batangas had been betting on the same combination—1, 17, 22, 27, 2, 33—for the past 10 years.
The numbers were originally picked by the bettor’s late father, who Roxas discovered had been betting on the same set of numbers since 1995.
The bettor’s father passed away in 2000, and the bettor decided to continue betting on the combination in 2002.
Roxas said the lotto winner plans to set up his own business with his winnings. -- Report from Henry Atuelan, dzMM
