Vendor killed in España road mishap
MANILA, Philippines – A fruit vendor died after a pick-up truck hit him along España Boulevard in Manila before dawn on Friday.
The still unidentified victim was reportedly crossing España Boulevard near the corner of Blumentritt St. when he was hit by a Toyota Hi-Lux driven by Wellington Go at around 1 a.m.
Taxi driver Ricardo Capili said he saw the vendor, who was carrying a basket of "rambutan", crossing the road even as the traffic light was on green.
The vendor was rushed to the Ospital ng Sampaloc but succumbed to his wounds at around 3 a.m.
