MANILA, Philippines – Farmers from the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) stormed the office of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) at the Agricultural Training Institute of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Quezon City Thursday afternoon.

KMP members rammed the gate of NAPC and occupied the building’s third floor.

KMP Deputy Sec. Gen. Willie Marbelia said the group's demonstration is for the distribution of Coco Levy funds.

The group wanted to speak to NAPC Sec. Joel Rocamora, who is also the head of Task Force on Coconut Levy, but he is allegedly out of the country.

The group dispersed at around 4 p.m. after failing to locate Rocamora. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
