MANILA, Philippines – The alleged leader of the notorious Ozamis robbery group and six other cohorts are now in the hands of the police.

Ricky Cadaver alias "Kambal" was arrested along with his common-law wife, Fe Tolentino, in Noveleta, Cavite Friday night.

Alleged gang driver Randy Maratas and another reported gang member, Avelino Lagata, were arrested in Bacoor City.

The other arrested members were identified as Gregorio Telen, Antonio Espera and Ramil Espera.

Police said Cadavero may serve for as long as 67 years in prison since he was convicted in absentia for two counts each of robbery and frustrated murder.

Last October 1, police also arrested five members of the robbery group, identified as Carlo Sanchez, Michael Dompor, Roger Gallego, Riza Singson, and Angelie Antonio.

The National Capital Region Police Office said the robbery group is behind the numerous robberies in malls in Metro Manila, including those in Alabang Town Center, Robinsons Metro East, Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Novaliches and Robinsons Dasmariñas.

The group is also being tagged in the killing of American Robert Edward Armstrong in a convenience store heist in Malate, Manila last September 2. – with the Philippine Star; Gus Abelgas, ABS-CBN News
