MANILA, Philippines – Several employees of the National Housing Authority (NHA) walked out of their work on Monday noon to protest the suspension of their benefits.
The employees held their protest in time for the agency's 37th year founding anniversary.
"Sa panahon ni Pangulong Noy ipinatigil iyon. Iyun ang kinalulungkot namin, dahil sa tagal na panahon na ipinaglaban namin sa mga collective negotiations agreement, for the the past many many years nakukuha namin iyon," an employee said.
"Sana nakikita ni President Noy iyong totoong nagaganap sa mga buhay ng mga kawani ng gobyerno."
The protest by the NHA employees also comes after several employees of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and Department of Science and Technology held protests last Friday over their suspended benefits. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
