MANILA, Philippines – Three people were injured after a car carrier rammed a dump truck along EDSA-Balintawak early morning Thursday.

Traffic police said the large vehicle carrying five brand new cars, driven by Brian Roxas, rammed a dump truck at around 4:15 a.m.

The dump truck was on full stop as it was being attached to a tow truck.

Due to the collision, Roxas got pinned from his seat. Two towing services personnel, identified as Nathaniel Hozon and Joel Aringoy, were also injured. The three were rushed to the hospital.

Authorities are looking into the possibility that Roxas fell asleep while driving. Roxas came from Laguna and was supposed to deliver the cars to Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.

The collision snarled traffic in the area, causing vehicle build-up all the way to Muñoz area. As of posting, the road was already passable.

The brand new cars were not damaged in the crash. – reports from Zandro Ochona and Johnson Manabat, dzMM
