Taxi driver robbed in Pasig, allegedly ignored by cops

MANILA, Philippines – A taxi driver is complaining of being ignored by Pasig police after he was victimized by robbers early morning Wednesday.

Taxi driver Gerry Jeneston said the suspect boarded his taxi along Julia Vargas Avenue and declared robbery in front of St. Paul College Pasig at around 1:30 a.m.

Jeneston said the suspect took off with his SAFE taxi and P3,200 earnings.

The driver said he immediately sought help from policemen stationed in nearby Eastern Police District Annex along Meralco Avenue.

However, the victim said the policemen told him to just go to the EPD headquarters where the Anti-Carnapping Unit is located.

Jeneston said the policemen could have arrested the suspect if they responded immediately.

Nevertheless, Pasig Police has told other police stations to look out for the stolen taxi with plate number UVW 948. – report from dzMM
