MANILA, Philippines – Brothers Marvin Esmael, 31, and Randy, 26, were shocked to see each other at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) station 3 after they were arrested for separate crimes Sunday.
According to initial reports, Marvin, a resident of Bagbag, Novaliches, robbed a house in RC Compound, Barangay Talipapa around 2:35 a.m.
The owner of the house, Reynato Marcelo, 42, said he saw Marvin take two cellphones and was able to hit him before the suspect got away.
But Marcelo’s neighbors and some barangay officials were able to nab the suspect.
Meanwhile, Randy was arrested around 3:45 a.m. after declaring a hold-up inside a jeepney in Quirino Highway, Barangay Talipapa.
One of the victims, Jun Valiente, 31, said the suspect was armed with a knife and was able to take his cellphone. Again, barangay officials were able to chase the suspect.
