MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) - An airport worker's body was mutilated after his car was cut in half by a speeding train of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Taguig City on Tuesday night.

Police identified the fatality as Ramon Yusta, a member of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport's customs police.

Willie Sakristan, a PNR flagman assigned in Barangay Bagong Tanyag, told ABS-CBN News that he flagged down all vehicles that were about to cross the railroad because of an approaching train.

"Pagkasabi ko ng stop dumiretso pa rin, umalis na lang ako kasi pati ako mababangga e," Sakristan said.

He said he saw how the train cut Yusta's vehicle into two.

The victim died instantly.

Police confirmed the PNR worker's statement.  “Nakahinto na iyong ibang sasakyan, inovertake-an niya pa,” Police Officer 1 Eric Gawain said.

He said the PNR is not responsible for Yusta’s death.

“Right of way ng train iyan e. Pupunta sila sa opisina ng PNR at bibigyan sila ng financial assistance,” he explained.

Investigators were seen picking up parts of Yusta's body at the site of the collision.

His wife, Ritchel, broke down when she received word of the incident.

“Siya lang naman ang inaasahan namin,” she said. – Dominic Almelor, ABS-CBN News
